Privacy Policy

Last updated June 2, 2026

Dots ("we", "us") is a free chain-reaction strategy game at dots-online.com and in our iOS and Android apps. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We don't sell your data and we don't run ads.

What we collect

  • Account info — if you sign in, your email and basic profile (name, avatar) from email sign-up or your chosen provider (Google, Apple, Microsoft), plus a username you pick.
  • Gameplay data — games you play: moves, results, ratings, trophies, friends, and game reviews. You can play without an account; unsaved guest play isn't tied to you.
  • Usage & device data — pages and actions in the app, plus standard technical data (device/browser type, approximate region from IP) used for analytics and abuse prevention.
  • Cookies / local storage — to keep you signed in and remember preferences (theme, sound, motion).

How we use it

  • Run the game: accounts, matchmaking, leaderboards, friends, and ratings.
  • Generate your optional AI game-review coaching when you request it.
  • Understand usage and fix problems so we can improve the game.
  • Keep play fair and prevent abuse.

Who we share it with (service providers)

We use a small set of trusted providers to run Dots. They process data only to provide their service to us:

  • Supabase — accounts, database, and authentication.
  • Cloudflare — hosting and content delivery.
  • PostHog — product analytics.
  • Anthropic — generates the plain-language coaching for a game review (only the analyzed game data is sent, when you request a review).
  • Google / Apple / Microsoft — only if you choose to sign in with them.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account and associated data at any time from in-app Settings, or by emailing us at privacy@dots-online.com — we'll delete your account data within 30 days, except anything we must retain for legal or security reasons.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. the EEA/UK under GDPR, or California under CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, email privacy@dots-online.com.

Children

Dots isn't directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we'll remove it.

Changes

We may update this policy; we'll change the date above and, for significant changes, note it in the app.
